Overview
This guide outlines the process and requirements for registering players in the Norfolk Combined Youth Football League (NCYFL).
All player registrations must:

follow FA and League rules;

be completed via the correct systems; and

include appropriate identity checks.
1. Player Registration Requirements
1.1 ID Check (Mandatory)
All players must be ID checked before registration.
1.2 Acceptable ID Documents
An ID check must include sight of one of the following:
-
Birth certificate
-
Residence permit
-
Passport
1.3 How ID Can Be Checked
ID can be verified via:
-
face-to-face;
-
email;
-
messaging; or
-
a digital form
⚠️ NCYFL may request to see a player’s identity document at any time.
2. When ID Must Be Checked
2.1 New Registrations
A player’s:

identity document; and
-
date of birth
must be checked before registration is submitted.
2.2 Transfers to a Club
ID must also be verified:
-
prior to transferring to a new club; or
-
at the point of registration
(This applies from the 2024/25 season onwards.)
3. How to Register a Player
3.1 Use FA Club Portal
All player registrations must be submitted via:

The following must be submitted by the Club Secretary via Refsec:

5.1 Permitted Dates
NCYFL operates a transfer window:

Transfers and de-registrations are not permitted before 1st October

Transfers and de-registrations are not permitted after 1st April
These restrictions apply within each playing season.

7.1 Compliance
Clubs must ensure:
